We love Hummus – hopefully as much as you do?! So #ConfessionTime, we don’t always make our own, well – rarely – but regardless, when we don’t we like to #PimpThatShizzleUp, so here are a few things we add to make your standard Hummus even more awesome (plus how to make it if you do want to make the whole thing from scratch!):


1 tin Chickpeas (in Water)

2 Garlic Clove

2 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil

1 Lemon, Juice and Zest

1½ tbsp Tahini

Salt and Pepper


  • Open your tin of Chickpeas, add 1tbsp of the liquid to your whizzer plus the remaining Chickpeas – discard the remaining water
  • Add the Garlic, Oil, Lemon, Tahini + a good dash of Salt and Pepper
  • Whizz in blender for 30 seconds, stir, whizz again and continue until all incorporated & smooth in consistency – voila!

NOW – to pimp it up a notch add any of the following combos:

  • 1tsp Turmeric, 1tsp Cumin & 2tsp Olive Oil
  • 1tsp Nori sprinkles, 3 Artichoke hearts, handful Mint
  • 1tsp Paprika, 1tsp dried Rosemary/Thyme/Mint or Oregano & 2tsp Olive Oil
  • 2tsp Capers & 8 Anchovies
  • 1tsp Curry Powder, ½ tsp Chilli & 1tsp Olive Oil
  • 1tsp (grainy) Mustard, 1tsp Paprika & 1tsp Olive Oil

Plus – a little bit of extra Black Pepper never goes amiss…
